What I have learned this week
I learned this week that effective literacy teachers understand how children learn. They also understand and incorporate listening, speaking, reading, and writing strategies throughout lessons. When children are trying to decode and comprehend words, it is extremely helpful for them to view rich colorful pictures. Pictures assist students' understanding and ability to make connections. The "word sort" activity was engaging and seems like a good idea to bring into elementary classrooms. I look forward to the group presentations. I'm excited to learn more about kid writing and how to incorporate strategies into the classroom.

My view of a 21st century classroom
The 21st century classroom has new technology spread throughout the room such as ipads, laptops, and various assistance learning devices. Technology is constantly changing and improving, so teachers need to keep up with new software information. I feel that most classrooms will be project based and will provide students with more differentiated instruction opportunities.
By integrating a mix of technology into the curriculum, teachers can improve student motivation, engagement, and adapt instruction to meet different learning styles and interests.
